F=ma

If life was Newton’s second Law, then my life in the past week or so would have been when the acceleration was equal to zero. Not only that, it was probably stationary as opposed to having a constant motion, because that’ll imply that I’ve been making progress of some sort. I haven’t. I feel like I haven’t made a lot of progress lately, whether that’s in terms of self-development, academics, social interactions or otherwise.

I’ve been meaning to do a lot of things, but it just hasn’t happened. There is no reason for why none of it is happening except for the fact that I can’t pull myself together to make it happen, and that frustrates me to no end. Why am I not doing what I know I should be doing? Why do I let myself stay stuck in this place? I felt like for a while I’ve been making great progress in different aspects of my life, but I can’t seem to keep the momentum going anymore. I don’t know what has happened, but I know this isn’t me. Sure, it’s very me-like to be lazy and procrastinate but it’s not that. I can’t really put a finger to it.

I want to keep moving forward, but I understand that there will inevitably be hiccups and detours along the way. As Miley Cyrus would say, it’s always an uphill battle; sometimes I gotta have to lose. That doesn’t mean I’ll stop trying though. I just gotta keep climbing and believe that I will make it. If anything, it all begins (and ends) in the mind, so think positive, y’all – your thoughts is probably the single most powerful force that keeps you going! I understand that it’s harder in practice but remember, you control your thoughts, not the other way around!

“Not being where you want to be should be enough motivation to get you where you want to be”

As always, take care of yourselves and I’ll catch ya in the next one.

Xx, Clueless.

Lessons learned from learning

Hello world, it’s been a hot minute!!! Since the last post where I wrote happily about the lack of academic stress, blissfully unaware that a month or so later I’d subject myself to more of the same, I hope you’ve been keeping well. To quickly catch you up, alongside balancing social and work life, a lot of time and energy has been dedicated to studying in the past few months. In doing so, I’ve learned a few lessons beyond the curriculum which I’m here to share.

New Age, New Stage

I remember in high school I once told a friend of mine that “I have never felt extremely happy nor extremely sad.” The palette of emotions that I experienced felt grey at most, nothing deep enough to feel the extremities. Now that high school is a distant memory, I am beginning to see the palette in more completeness.

The Last.

It's been a while since I've pulled up a word document not for the purposes of writing an essay or assignment. It's refreshing. Before the night officially ends I'd like to wish my fellow Chinese friends out there a happy mid-autumn festival!
