March Moments

It feels like an April Fool’s joke that March is already over. Amidst the busy schedule, it was hard to notice March creeping away so quickly, leaving a trail of conflicting feelings in its wake.

March had decided to mingle itself with the excitement of (the start of) something new, the promise of growth and the inevitable loneliness that comes as a packed deal, as well as a huge workload.

The past month had been all about finding and maintaining a balance between studying and my (almost non-existent) social life. It has definitely been a hectic four weeks which has made me cherish every minute with the people around me and even time spent alone. It hasn’t been easy, but hey we all made it! *pats myself on the back*.

Exciting things that took place over the month: I saw Ed Sheeran perform live! Now, that was one good night – and a real effective procrastination method (no regrets). My favourite part of the night was seeing the stadium light up as we all sang along to A Team! Ther e is something about singing (and thinking) out loud that I find satisfying. Thanks for gracing us with your talent, Ed. (As if he’s ever going to read this, but a girl can dream).

Excuse the bad photography and totally HD quality (not) - there is only so much a short girl can do (and see) at a concert.

Best sunrise and sunset award so far goes to March! I am a lover of sunsets (if my Instagram is anything to go by) and somewhere throughout the month I’ve added sunrises to the list of things I love! I don’t usually get to see the sunrise but I had come to adopt the habit of waking up earlier. When that means getting to see the sunrise, it’s damn worth it.

The last photo is a cheeky sunset photo because we all know Carley loves her sunsets

We celebrated another year of existence for my sister earlier this month. I can’t believe how old she’s becoming (she’s not actually that much older than me) but her ages does little to indicate how much she has grown, and I think that goes for all of us. Growth isn’t (just) about how old we are turning, it’s about the other things that makes every day one worth celebrating – the changes we are making to become who we want to be as we simultaneously figure that out, I don’t actually know to be completely honest but what I know is that it isn’t easy, so here’s to more self-celebrations even if there is no cake. You rock, and you’re doing fabulous!

Thanks for bringing so much to the table, March. Now, for April.. I can't wait to see what you have in store! Time to live the saying 'Work hard, Play harder'...

Take care of yourselves my lovelies and I hope you have an amazing month! Thanks for reading this far!

Until next time,
C x

Lessons learned from learning

Hello world, it’s been a hot minute!!! Since the last post where I wrote happily about the lack of academic stress, blissfully unaware that a month or so later I’d subject myself to more of the same, I hope you’ve been keeping well. To quickly catch you up, alongside balancing social and work life, a lot of time and energy has been dedicated to studying in the past few months. In doing so, I’ve learned a few lessons beyond the curriculum which I’m here to share.

New Age, New Stage

I remember in high school I once told a friend of mine that “I have never felt extremely happy nor extremely sad.” The palette of emotions that I experienced felt grey at most, nothing deep enough to feel the extremities. Now that high school is a distant memory, I am beginning to see the palette in more completeness.

The Last.

It's been a while since I've pulled up a word document not for the purposes of writing an essay or assignment. It's refreshing. Before the night officially ends I'd like to wish my fellow Chinese friends out there a happy mid-autumn festival!
